How To Store Fish

When you go out fishing it's important to store the fish that you catch and plan to eat properly or else your fish can spoil. There is nothing worse than catching some nice trout or catfish only to have them rotting by the time you get home!

I usually just go with a cooler full of ice. This will hold me over until I can transport the fish into a refrigerator or freezer.

Going with a fish stringer is another good method. You can keep the fish alive this way until you leave the lake or river. The only downside is that this is painful for the fish. I would rather just put it out of its misery quickly.
